Kulintang - Maguindanao Kolintang - Maranao
The term kulintang respresents the eight gongs seen in some of these photos. Three former photos are examples of the tongkol process, the way kulintang gongs are tuned using a hammer. Here Master Danongan Kalanduyan is demostrating how this is done on my kulintang gongs. The two latter photos show betays, the beaters used to hit the bosses of kulintang gongs.
